Case Study / ACTIV FOUNDATION

Relaunching Chevron City to Surf for Activ

01 CASE STUDY Overview

Activ Foundation helps people living with disability have the same opportunities as everyone else.

As WA's largest registered NDIS provider, Activ supports more than 1,400 individuals and their families each year.

Activ also hosts the Chevron City to Surf, which is one of their major fundraising events.

With the Chevron City to Surf running in 2023 after a hiatus due to the pandemic, Activ want to ensure this year's event is one to remember. This starts with the digital experience.

Clue was engaged to develop a new website for the event.

02 The Challenge

Make it accessible, fun, and fast!

The Chevron City to Surf needed a website that makes it easy to register for the run and sponsor runners. Our brief was for the site to be accessible and easy to use.

With a tight deadline, the challenge was to do so fast!

03 Our Approach

Collaborative by design

To get the Chevron City to Surf website launched quickly, we adopted a collaborative approach to co-create with Activ Foundation's event team. This reduced the time needed for edits and approvals.

The website includes Chevron City to Surf branding alongside custom icons, a wavey aesthetic, and iconic imagery from previous events. While we designed for accessibility first, the design has a high-contrast option for people who experience visual impairment.

The site went live prior to the official event launch with friends and sponsors at the Parmelia Hilton on 5 April.

04 The Outcome

Ready, set, go!

You can register for this year's Chevron City to Surf right now.

We'll update results here in due course, but look forward to seeing you with your runners in August.
